Abdullah's Biography

Abdullah Abunafeesa is an associate securities lawyer practicing corporate and commercial law. He works diligently to provide clients with efficient and effective legal advice to successfully meet their short-term and long-term business objectives. Abdullah strongly believes in providing clients with results-oriented service that minimizes their risks and optimizes their business opportunities.

Abdullah has assisted a wide range of clients in various business sectors with securities, corporate, and commercial law matters, including within the natural resources, technology, life sciences, and industrial sectors. He has advised numerous public and private companies on capital market transactions such as private placement financings, public offerings, mergers and acquisitions, spinout transactions, and corporate reorganizations. Abdullah also advises clients with respect to securities regulatory compliance, continuous disclosure obligations, and initial & continued listing requirements on the major Canadian stock exchanges.

In 2015, Abdullah obtained his law degree from the University of Ottawa. He joined Maxis Law in 2016, after articling at a national firm in Vancouver. Prior to obtaining his law degree, he conducted post-graduate research in Neuroscience at the Department of Biomedical and Molecular Sciences at Queen’s University. Abdullah utilizes his strong scientific background to facilitate a deeper understanding of the business needs of companies in the life sciences and technology industries.

Abdullah is an avid soccer player and a member of Mundiavocat FC (Vancouver-based soccer team that competes in the Lawyers’ World Cup). Additionally, he enjoys attending plays and various live performances, traveling, and reading scientific journals. Abdullah is fluent in Arabic.
